About Us

Indian Ocean International Film Festival 1st season to be held during 16 – 17 December, brings to its audience, acclaimed documentary works from across the world of different region. Audiences are given the chance to experience a film festival from miles away.

The purpose of this film festival is to promote new filmmakers, exchange of knowledge, information, ideas & culture between Mauritius & other nations in context of their social and cultural ethos. IOIFF also promotes friendship and co-operation among people of the world through the medium of films & documentaries.

The focus is to showcase unseen stories from across the regions to our viewers. Indian Ocean Film Association presents this festival with different stakeholders, presents a curated selection of films acclaimed for its artistic merit. We are willing to screen your film amongst diverse audiences in order to support you in developing your uprising career, therefore in addition to our public Event in Mauritius. We consider each event an opportunity for networking with other artists and people from the industry.

Certificates will be presented to the top 3 winning feature-length & short length scripts. Finalists also get their scripts read by industry professionals.

Rules

The Festival will be held in Mauritius from 16 to 17 December, 2022

👉🏻Entry fees *Non- Refundable*.

👉🏻Subtitle not compulsory for local movies (Mauritian).

👉🏻English or French subtitles are required for International Movies

👉🏻Film language – All languages Accept.

👉🏻Short Film Duration – 01min to 40 mins.

👉🏻Feature Film All Duration Accepted. (At least 55 minutes long)

👉🏻Film must have been released/produced between 1st January 2019 and November 2022

👉🏻After the short film registration, the entry fees will not be refunded.

👉🏻Films can be from anywhere in the world since the festival is an international competition.

👉🏻No inquiries or arguments will be entertained regarding non-selected films.

👉🏻The decision of festival selection committee will be final. (JURY DECISION WILL BE FINAL)

👉🏻The Festival Director reserves the right to exclude films which are not in conformity with aims of the Festival

👉🏻The festival has the right to use a trailer, stills and a poster from the films for promotional purposes.

👉🏻 We are currently announcing 120+ Award categories that could increase this number.

👉🏻Once a film is selected for our annual event, it cannot be withdrawn.

👉🏻 Every information of the festival will be given on the Facebook page, or an attempt will be made to contact by mail.

👉🏻 Soft Copy certificate will be awarded to all winners. Cost of certificate production (hard copy) and courier charges for trophy and certificate will be applied for international filmmakers.
